For our most recent trip, we had to make last minute departure changes in order to attend the funeral of a close friend. Thank you Terri for checking in, we had an amazing time J We would definitely recommend Hotel Xcaret - service was really good, food was excellent, the room was well appointment with great amenities. The hotel has a river running through it (really large property as so many of them are) - with nice sandy beaches by the lagoons on the river. You could kayak or paddle board through the river, the water was crystal clear.
Nice personal touches in the restaurants - ladies making tortillas by hand and cooking them to order for breakfast (one of Rod's highlights of the week), a lovely guy walking around with beautiful breakfast pastries, one of the mariachi bands from the Xcaret show performed one night in one of the a la carte restaurants - they were incredible.
Unfortunately you can't swim in the ocean at that property - very rocky part of the coast - but they had lovely sun beds right up to the sea front - so we sat there a couple of time.
The gym was well equipped and very clean. We didn't use the spa. Concierge staff very helpful.
The hotel being part of all the parks also works really well - they have buses running fairly frequently, and once at the parks there is a bit of preferential treatment (based on being identified as staying at the hotel). We all went to Xcaret (which we have been to a few times) and the evening show is well worth watching. Rod and Amelia went to Xplor for ziplining and the buggy over rough terrain - I stayed back to relax - but versus booking a trip like either of these as an excursion (like with Apple Vacations) you didn't have to stay all day - you just got the courtesy hotel bus to and from as you wished. We heard good things about the Xenses park from a couple of people.
Airport transportation was directly on the Hotel Xcaret bus - we checked in with the A. rep as usual and they redirected us. This too was great as we didn't have to stop at multiple hotels on the way - both airport transfers were direct.
All buffets were served by staff due to current circumstances, so multiple guests are not touching the same utensils. If you have any clients a little nervous about traveling - their safety protocols were great - temperature check before being seated in the restaurants, hand sanitizer dispensers which you were encouraged to use before being seated, gentle reminders about wearing masks when moving around.
Flights were good - full - no issues. Covid test at the hotel was smooth - we signed up earlier in the week for a time slot the day before departure, and they emailed the results within a couple of hours - which we needed checking in at the airport.
We all did really enjoy the hotel, were so glad we went, and would definitely go back. Believe they are opening another part to the hotel in the next couple of months. It is a newer property, and not showing any signs of aging just yet.

"The vacation in Italy went very well. Lynn and I enjoyed every minute of it thanks in large part to your support with the hotels, transportation, and tours. It was just the right balance of pre-planned tours and free time to explore the four venues we visited. All of the Viator tours were excellent, especially the all-day excursions to Tuscany and Capri. I had been a little concerned about the pick-up locations and timing, but they all worked out well. I think our favorite hotel was the Antica Mura in Sorrento - a great room (all by itself on the roof with our own terrace), and excellent customer service, especially the driver they arranged (Francesco) who drove us all day down the Amalfi coast and to the airport the next day. He wasn't just a driver but and excellent tour guide as well."
